1. Basic course (For the beginners)

Area-VH in cases having no contraindications to vaginal hysterectomy

  • -Uterus size = 12 weeks size.

2. Advance course (For those completed basic course.)

Area-VH in cases with one or more traditional contraindications to vaginal hysterectomy
  • -Uterus above 12 weeks size
  • -Fixed uterus
  • -H/O previous CS or other pelvic operations
  • -Vaginal hysterectomy plus post hysterectomy laparoscopy if needed to approach vaginally invisible pelvic pathology.
  • -Laparoscopic approach to failed vaginal hysterectomy and salpingo oophorectomy to avoid laparotomy.
  • -Vaginally Initiated Laparoscopic Assisted Vaginal Hysterectomy (first vaginal part then laparoscopic part, uterus removed vaginally)
Note
--We now offer hands on training on basic course only. Depending on the availability live operation of cases included in advance course will be demonstrated to candidates undergoing training on basic course. Previously recorded video of cases included in basic as well as the advance course will be shown to candidates undergoing training on basic course.

Learning Curve :

- Easy to learn and an easier technique (learning curve 4 to 5 cases).

Intrested to join as an Observer

One can come and observe vaginal hysterectomy by Purohit technique. However one has to register filling the registration form for observation and pay registration fee of Rs 10000 or USD 300 for 7 days. Session-one can join any time but one has to register at least 6 weeks before he/she wants to join. Observer can only watch the vaginal hysterectomy performed by Dr Purohit/Dr Sharma/Dr Panigrahi. Can discuss with surgeons during the procedures. Can watch previously recoded video. Reading materials will be provided, DVD of technique will be provided. Certificate will be provided.

Note:Registration fee is nothing other than course fee.

Instructions to candidates joining course:

One week hands on training course is enough to learn basic course. We encourage Gynaecologists to join one week hands on training course.
-Read the text of Purohit technique of vaginal hysterectomy (learn Purohit technique of vaginal hysterectomy step by step) available on the web site before joining the course.
-See the video of the technique available on the web site before joining the course.

Training schedule

One week course- (Hands on training)

Days Morning Afternoon Evening
1st and 2nd Observe vaginal hysterectomy
performed by Dr Purohit.		 Laboratory Model practice and to watch previously recorded video. Attend lecture of one hour.
3rd and 4th Given chance to assist vaginal hysterectomy. Laboratary Model practice and to Watch previously recorded video. Attend lecture of one hour.
5th Given chance to perform vaginal hysterectomy.
Dr Purohit/Dr Sharma/Dr Panigrahi will assist you to guide.		 Laboratory Model practice and to Watch previously recorded video. Attend lecture of one hour.
6th and 7th Given chance to perform vaginal hysterectomy.
Dr Purohit/Dr Sharma/Dr Panigrahi will assist you to guide.		 Laboratory Model practice and to Watch previously recorded video. Attend lecture of one hour.

Also on day 7- Certificate handing over ceremony.
Note: Adequate number of cases will be available during the training course (More than 2 cases/day) Reading materials will be provided, DVD of technique will be provided.

ONE MONTH EXTENDED TRAINING COURSE.

  • Course fee is 1000 USD or Rs 45000, is nothing but registration fee.
  • One can stay in hospital free of cost in a furnished room.
  • Food and others at own cost.
  • We register for only one Gynaecologist per month.

TRAINING SCHEDULE

Day 1, 2, 3 & 4
  • To watch Purohit Technique of Vaginal Hysterectomy in the morning.
  • To go for Laboratory Practice in the afternoon for Vaginal Hysterectomy. using bipolar forceps, Bi-clamp and Harmonic wave.
Day 5 & 6
  • To assist Vaginal Hysterectomy operation in the morning.
  • To go for Laboratory practice in the afternoon to learn morcellation techniques in Vaginal Hysterectomy.
Day 7 to day 20
  • Can perform Vaginal Hysterectomy operation in the Operation Theater under supervision.
  • Demonstration of complicated Vaginal Hysterectomy will be done.
  • Demonstration of post hysterectomy Laparoscopic adhesiolysis and salpingo oophorectomy will be done.
  • Demonstration of need of Laparoscopic assistance to complete Vaginal Hysterectomy, adhesiolysis and salpingo oophorectomy will be done.
  • To go for Laboratory practice in the afternoon for Laparoscopic assisted Vaginal Hysterectomy.
  • Recorded video can be watched in the afternoon. -standard, previous CS, pelvic adhesions, large and very large uterus morcellation techniques,
  • Hysterectomy by bipolar forceps, bi-clamp and harmonic wave.
  • Laparoscopic approach to failed vaginal hysterectomy.
Day 21 to day 30
  1. Can perform Laparoscopy to complete Vaginal Hysterectomy, salpingo oophorectomy and adhesiolysis under supervision.
  2. Can perform Laparoscopic assisted Vaginal Hysterectomy.
  3. Simultaneously other Gyn. Operations can be watched in the Operation Theater.
