1. Basic course (For the beginners)

Area
Vaginal hysterectomy in cases with no contraindications to vaginal hysterectomy.
Uterus size -below 12 weeks of gestation.

2. Advance course (For those completed basic course.)

Area
Vaginal hysterectomy in cases with one or more traditional contraindications to vaginal hysterectomy.
  • Uterus size above 12 weeks of gestation
  • Fixed uterus
  • History of previous CS or other previous pelvic operations
  • Vaginal hysterectomy plus post hysterectomy laparoscopy (VH plus PHL) if needed to deal with vaginally invisible pelvic pathology.
  • Laparoscopic approach to failed vaginal hysterectomy and salpingo oophorectomy to avoid laparotomy.
  • Vaginally Initiated Laparoscopic Assisted Vaginal Hysterectomy(VILAVH) (first vaginal part then laparoscopic part, uterus removed vaginally)
  • Minilaparotomy hysterectomy of large uterus

Presently, We offer hands on training on basic course only. Depending on the availability of cases, live operation of cases included in the advance course will be demonstrated to candidates undergoing training for basic course. Previously recorded video of cases included in the basic and advance course will be shown to candidates undergoing training for basic course. We now offer hands on training on basic course only. Depending on the availability live operation of cases included in advance course will be demonstrated to candidates undergoing training on basic course. Training schedule

One week course- (Hands on training)

Days Morning Afternoon Evening
1st and 2nd Observe vaginal hysterectomy
performed by Dr Purohit.		 Laboratory Model practice and to watch previously recorded video. Attend lecture of one hour.
3rd and 4th Given chance to assist vaginal hysterectomy. Laboratary Model practice and to Watch previously recorded video. Attend lecture of one hour.
5th Given chance to perform vaginal hysterectomy.
Dr Purohit/Dr Sharma will assist you to guide.		 Laboratory Model practice and to Watch previously recorded video. Attend lecture of one hour.
6th and 7th Given chance to perform vaginal hysterectomy.
Dr Purohit/Dr Sharma will assist you to guide.		 Laboratory Model practice and to Watch previously recorded video. Attend lecture of one hour.

Note :
Laboratory model practice-for foot, hand, and eye coordination.
Placenta model will be given to practice monopolar incision, and bipolar coagulation and division by scissors for 8 hours in 4 sessions.
Also on day 7- Certificate handing over ceremony.

Note :
Adequate number of cases will be available during the training course (two cases/day).
Reading materials and DVD of technique will be provided.

Two Weeks Extended Training Course. [We train only gynecologic surgeons]

Session-throughout the year.
  1. Course fee is 700 USD or INR 30000, is nothing but registration fee.
  2. One can stay in hospital free of cost in a partially furnished room.
  3. Food and others - at own cost.
  4. We register for only one Gynaecologist per session.

Training Schedules :

Day 1, 2, 3 and 4
  • To watch Purohit technique of vaginal hysterectomy in the morning.
  • To go for laboratory practice in the afternoon for vaginal hysterectomy. Using bipolar forceps, Bi-clamp and Harmonic wave. Laboratory model practice-for foot, hand, and eye coordination. Placenta model will be given to practice monopolar incision, and bipolar coagulation and division by scissors for 8 hours in 4 sessions.
Day 5 and 6
  • To assist vaginal hysterectomy operation in the morning.
  • To go for laboratory practice in the afternoon to learn morcellation techniques in vaginal hysterectomy.
Day 7 to Day 14
  1. May perform vaginal hysterectomy operation in the operation theater under direct supervision.
  2. Demonstration of complicated vaginal hysterectomy and salpingo oophorectomy will be done.
  3. Demonstration of post hysterectomy laparoscopic adhesiolysis and salpingo oophorectomy will be done.
  4. Demonstration of need of laparoscopic assistance to complete vaginal hysterectomy, adhesiolysis, and salpingo oophorectomy will be done.
  5. To go for laboratory practice in the afternoon for laparoscopic assisted vaginal hysterectomy.
  6. Recorded video may be watched in the afternoon. -standard, with previous CS, with pelvic adhesions, with large and very large uterus, Morcellation techniques, hysterectomy by bipolar forceps, by bi-clamp and by harmonic wave.Also, laparoscopic approach to failed vaginal hysterectomy.

Attend the workshop as Observer

One can come and observe vaginal hysterectomy by Purohit technique. Observer may only watch the vaginal hysterectomy performed by Dr Purohit/Dr Sharma. Can discuss with surgeons during the procedures. Can watch previously recoded video. Reading materials and DVD of technique will be provided.
Certificate will be provided.

Session :
During first two days of the one week hands on training session mentioned above. Candidates are requested to send an e-mail request to the course coordinator to join the workshop as observer ( ramkrishnapurohit@hotmail.com ) or fill the registration form for observation. The candidate will be then asked to pay registration fee of Rs 7000 or USD 200 for 2 days. Hotel accommodation cost - approx. INR 1500/day. To register for training course kindly fill up the registration form . Write your choice to join for either one or two week's course. Also, choose the time of the year and submit. We will access the vacancy.We will request you to send a scan copy of certificate of Post Graduate Qualification and proof of residence with photograph or a copy of Passport. Then we will e-mail to you about the details to make payment of registration fee. On receipt of the registration fee, registration will be confirmed to you by e-mail.
